Rich in essential oils, Zoë Bay Leaves add depth and fragrance to both classic and modern dishes. Naturally dried and premium quality, they’re a staple for Mediterranean kitchens and everyday cooking. 

Quantity:

Uses 

  • Add to soups, stews, and broths for depth of flavor 
  • Infuse sauces, gravies, and marinades 
  • Season roasted meats, poultry, and vegetables 
  • Enhance rice, beans, and legume dishes 
  • Add to pickling brines or slow-cooked Mediterranean dishes 
  • Pair with olive oil, garlic, and lemon for classic Greek flavors 
  • Use in bouquet garni for traditional European and Mediterranean recipes 

Recipe: Traditional Greek Macaroni with Kima (Ground Meat) 

Ingredients (serves 4–6): 

  • 400 g (14 oz) macaroni or short pasta 
  • 3 tbsp Zoë Extra Virgin Olive Oil 
  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef or lamb 
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped 
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced 
  • 1 can (400 g) tomato puree or crushed tomatoes 
  • 2 Zoë Greek Dried Bay Leaves 
  • 1 tsp dried oregano 
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (traditional touch) 
  • ¼ tsp ground allspice (optional, traditional) 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 
  • Grated kefalotyri or Parmesan cheese for serving 
  • Fresh parsley for garnish 

Instructions: 

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside. 
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft and fragrant. 
  1. Add ground meat and cook until browned. 
  1. Stir in tomato puree, Zoë Greek Dried Bay Leaves, oregano, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 20–25 minutes until the sauce thickens and flavors meld. 
  1. Remove bay leaves before serving. 
  1. Toss the cooked pasta with the meat sauce, or layer in a casserole for baked macaroni style. 
  1. Garnish with grated cheese and fresh parsley. 

Serving Suggestion: Serve with a traditional Greek salad, olives, and crusty bread for an authentic family-style meal, just like homemade in Greece.
